Fascinating, Rosemary! And such a lovely story of sharing love of food.

Question: was the meat spit roasted? Almost like a rotisserie? The photo seems to show a fairly large piece of meat. Did the skewer turn or were the skewers roasted around at all??

Thank you and glad you enjoyed the story. Yes, the meat was spit roasted with the skewer cut right through it. The structure around the fire rotates, but the skewers do not. However, each individual skewer can be removed and the meat turned around to cook the other side. On the skewers around the Antikristo are pork belly, lamb leg and chicken. Divine!!!

Thank you! When I looked more closely at your photo, I saw the hooks where the various spits rest and the area beneath to catch the juices. Divine it must have been!
